my son was killed recently he was stationary at red light on his bike and car 1 was going to fast to stop and collided into him hitting him into the outside lane into the path of car 2 which failed to stop at red light. car 1 driver charged with due care and attention and car 2 driver charged with death by dangerous what will be there sentance. my son died of horrific injuries instantly. both drivers had there licences for 2 months prior to this
The maximum prison sentence for 'causing death by dangerous driving' is 14 years.
There is no prison sentence for driving without due care and attention - this has a fine and possibly a ban.
I think it is pointless speculating as to the sort of penalties they will receive - both drivers will put forward defences - but I do hope it is dealt with as quickly as possible.
