driving without third party insurance

hello, I need some help here. I have to attend court because I was driving the car without the insurance. Situation is that I went to check the car that I found on ebay. It was a good car so I decided to buy it the very last minute. I place a bid and won. I was driving that car back home without insurance. It was late Saturday night. I didn't know that I can buy insurance on internet. Now it's too late. I am going to plead guilty by post, but wan to write a letter to the judge explaining all situation but I am a terrible writer, my friend told I wrote very childish, and I am not English. I don't know how to write it. Can somebody help me to write it? I would be very thankful. Many thanks.

I find it hard to believe you bought a car on the internet and obviously obtained directions on how to get there but didnt see any advertisements for insurance !

Not where I sit NJ.......edict from above definitely �350......on sentencing exercise with CC Judges they thought it should be higher than that

How exactly did anyone find out you didnt have insurance? Did you have an accident or did the police pull you over?

did i dream it but wasn't e bay offering free 7 day insurance cover with norwich union recently??? or was that just for traders ??

thaks In A Pickle and all you guys for advice. With your help now I know many ways how I could avoid this situation, but know is too late. I did a mistake and I am gonna pay for it. But it was relly nice that so many people respond to my question. THANK YOU!

Yeah but you still haven't said how you got caught. You obviously got stopped by the police for some other reason when you were driving but you are conveniently not mentioning that!

Lets hope that next time you have an accident whilst driving without insurance that you hit 'in-a-pickle' as they seem to have plenty of sympathy for you so im sure they won't mind being hit by a drivier with no insurance.

Hi, just wanna say thanks everybody who replyed. I send letter to court hearing and just got answer: 6 points and �360.
P.S. I had been cought because I hit a tree. Thanks got it was not another car and no other person was involved. If it was, I would pay everything to cover demage I made. It was my mistake and it is my responsibility to do that.
