My partner & I have lived togethrt for 5 years - we have a 9 month old son and she has a 7 year old from a previous relationship who also lives with us. Things are turning sour, though we hope to rekindle what we had. I pay the mortgage and all the bills, whilst she covers childcare for the little one. IF we were to split would I have to keep paying the mortgage, aswell as maintenence whilst having to find somewhere else to live?

There would probably be some state aid available for your partner, that may reduce the overall liabilities.

Please try to sort it out together though, I cant tell you how important it is that Children, wherever possible, have both parents (happy together) in order to get a balanced upbringing

Good luck
