WOW WEE! Imust admitt i was shocked when she told me what she wanted to do and ill do everything in my power to stop it happening,But thats abit harsh,The instructer warned her when she got in the car this morning that he wasnt passing women today joke or no joke it put her off, like it would any normal nervous human being taking there driving test,I will make sure she,s doesant get behind the wheel but there was no need for that comment.
If she is stopped by the police she can be charged with driving otherwise than in accordance with her licence (i.e. without L plates and an accompanying qualified driver). This carries a usual penalty of between 3 and 6 points and a fine of about one weeks income.
The issue of whether she will find herself uninsured as a result of committing driving offences has been aired on many occasions on AB. Two of the most recent examples are:

If she accumulates 12 or more points within three years she will be disqualified for a minimum of six months. As well as this, iIf she persistently offends in the same way magistrates may see fit to disqualify until a test is passed. This means that if she continues to drive other than in accordance she can be convicted of driving whilst disqualified. This offence carries a maximum of six months custody.

I knew someone who did this. He failed his test then thought sod it and started driving around illegally. He got caught when to court and got a fine and told to pass his test which he did... Personally i think its disgusting.. I dont drive and ive failed my test once...ive never thought of driving without a licence ever...even if i am desperate to go to fliipin tesco for a pint of milk i either go without or get the bus! the worse that could happen is that your mate will run over a child or a mother of a child or a mum AND child...then she will be a murderer and wish she hadnt been so stupid...plus why has she got herself insurance?? its void if you dont have a license!! DERRRR
Thanks alot for your replys,I feel stupid that i panicked and asked the question in the first place, obviously my friend as now seen reason and of course wouldnt drive her car,And not that this makes any difference at all but i would just like to say to tetjam that my best friend is a best friend for a reason she spends her entire life running around after other people she cares for everyone on top of doing all that she suffers with terrible panic attacks that iv seen first hand and they look terrifing, obviously you didnt no this and it might not make any difference to you,Have anyone of you thought of doing something that you no is wrong?I shouldnt have sent the post and i understand everyones entitilled to there opinion but man im glad im not your friend tetjam.
I failed my first test and deserved to do so. However I did have a disagreement with the examiner. He asked me to pull into the side of the road and asked me to pull out and to drive past the next junction and reverse around it. When I pulled out, I spotted that a driving school car which had overtaken us, had stopped on the same junction and was about to carry out the same manoeuvre. What do you do? I pulled into the side of the road again (properly) to wait until they had finished. "What are you doing?" said the examiner. I explained my logic, thinking he would say OK, but instead got a tirade of "We've told the driving schools not to practice on the test route - pull in behind him!" "But what happens if he backs into me? " I asked - "You'll fail me for not taking account of other road users." "Just do it" he said. At that moment the instructor spotted us and must have told his learner to pull away, leaving the junction clear. I drove like an idiot after that having been throughly put off. Still when my second test came along, I felt fine, until the office door opened and you can never guess who walked out to carry out the test......
But I passed that time!
But I passed that time!
can i just say you go on about your best mate cares and spends a lot of time running round after others.. if she was even considering driving without a license then this isnt not caring and thinking about others its totally the opposite! and to say "dont you ever do anything wrong" yeah we do things wrong but not considering driving illegally and putting peoples life's in danger... eating chocolate is bad but possibly causing a fatal accident is WORSE!
Like i put in my last post i panicked so asked for advice,If id just waited 2 hours for her to calm down i should have known she wouldnt seriously do it because of course she wouldnt put other people in danger,But advice wasnt given from some of you judgement was,I take full responcibilitie (spelt wrong) for my question,And good that the worst thought thats ever come into your head as been choclate and im so glad that youve never been that frustrated to think of doing something studid,But at the end of the day its sorted and i should have known my friend better than to belive she,d do something like that in the first place.
I have to say from reading all these posts a lot of people seem to say that your friend may go and kill someone if she drives without a license and therefore be a murderer.
Errrr at what point did it become a lesser offence to cause death by dangerous driving if you do have a license?
I would not condone driving without a valid license but Jonah asked for advice, I assume so he can talk his friend out of the idea, which turned out just to be her letting off steam in the heat of the moment. Sadly, all he got was a torrent of abuse instead.
Jonah, I realised a long time ago that posting any questions on here regarding driving offences, be it speeding, drink driving, driving without a license, or whatever will result in a stream of judgmental answers and very little actual constructive advice.
I'm glad your friend has calmed down and realised it would be a stupid thing to do and wish her luck with her next test.

Some have been quite abusing though which im sure youve read,I understand its a touchy subject and i didnt want anyone to tell me it was ok for her to do it,But tetjam well that was just plain nasty and i dont think there was any need for it,P.S area cotswolds! And i can assure you you,ll be quite safe here.
