Whilst I take my children to school I encounter another parent who enjoys intimidating, humiliating and generally dragging my name through the dirt. The woman hates me for no reason and I cannot get away from her. What can I do within legal boundaries?

Do you talk to the other parents?
If so try and find out what her problem is.

Apparently I've looked at her! Yes, its true I hate her and with good reason but never wanted to make something of it. Its not the bitching etc. towards me, its about my kids that really ****** me off and although I'm biased they are angels and have definitely not done anything to upset her and have never associated with her kids. I hate the woman and can't shake her off.
She sounds like a barrel of laughs!!!

I don't think there is anything you can do apart from just ignore her. She'll soon get the message that you are not interested in "looking" at her. Just go about your daily business.
well gossip isn't an offence but harassment is, as far as I know.

I guess it depends on how upset you are, and whether you have witnesses. you shouldn't have to put up with this kind of cr*p but be careful to not sink to her level. keep a diary of what goes on, because one day you just might need it.

drop in at your local police station and get some advice. I wish you luck.

I was ignoring her and not looking at her, when she imposed herself on me in the first place. I've witnessed her scowling at other mild mannered women and wished that she'd delight the wrong sort with the pleasure of her personality!
I am trying to get my head around somebody hating you for no reason..

Have you a better or newer car, House, Husband, or anything this women would be envious of ?...Do your wear nice clothes or have a good job ?.

Did your kids fall out or fight ?.

Have you spoken to a third party about her who may have let it slip ?.

See, I still cannot understand how a stranger who doesen't know you from Adam dislike's you so much...

I think there is a hidden agenda somewhere.

I was new to the area and decided to make new acquaintances by joining the local playgroup. All I did was sit down and became aware of a woman to my side, who from her facial expression, was completely offended by me. I was surprised at her hostility. She then turned to her friend and said "That woman dosn't like me. If she looks at me like that again I'm going to smack her in the face". I've stayed out of her way and tried to put her out of my mind. She approached me 12 months later, disgusted that my 2 year old didn't want to play with the other children and was clinging to me. I kept my cool, have always been polite, but I can tell you it is the first time I have ever wanted to physicaly attack someone. I was lost for words. I've tried very hard to keep her at a distance and wished everyday that she would drop dead, please!
Hi aquamarine

Sorry to hear about the hassle you are having with one woman. From what you say she clearly has a problem and not you if you manage to get on with everyone else ok.

Could she have mental health problems?
It may put your mind at rest more prehaps if you went into school and had a confidential word with the headteacher. You may not be the first to encounter her hatred like this (I'd prob bet money your not)

It would upset any mother (or father) to hear their children being talked about they way she is doing about yours and all I can suggest is to stand away from her, turn your back totally to her if need be or just walk away to the other side of the playground.
If her kids start to pick on yours in anyway go straight to their teacher and nip it in the bud, this is where going to have a private word with the head before anything could start will come in handy.

I wish you all the luck with this because it certainly isn't nice having to put up with this sort of behaviour everyday.
it sounds like she's very insecure underneath her loud bitchiness and is insanely jealous of you! Personally if it were me I would sink down to her level and and tell her if she doesn't stop spreading rumours you will smack her in the face! People like her are full of bull, if you stand up to her she will probably stop hassling you
