Going by what you say, probably just a caution.
Question Author
i thought you would receive a caution at the police station?? I have to attend court on th 29th of this month, do they do cautions at court???
No they do not.

If you have been told to attend court you are being prosecuted and face conviction.

Assuming you have been charged with assaulting a PC the magistrates starting point for a first time offender pleading not guilty is a custodial sentence. However, if the offence is as trivial as you describe it falls at the very lowest end of the seriousness range and you will probably receive a fine or perhaps a Conditional Discharge.

Ive just noticed from your similar question under Criminal that you cite Section 46(1).

I believe this is part of an act applicable to Northern Ireland. If so, my answer may not apply.

What Act is the Section 46(1) to which you refer?

Assault PC is usually charged under S.89 of the Police Act, whilst Common Assault is S.39 of the Criminal Justice Act.

If you have been summonsed, have a look at the paperwork.
