I need to travel to agde Southern France at the beginning of sept 08.. my friend doesn't fly so what would be the cheapest/quickest way to get there? There could possibly be 2 or 4 travelling.

you can get there by train via London, Eurostar and Paris - day trains take around 10h - 10h30m, or travel overnight from Paris, journey 15h.

But if there are 4 of you it'll be cheaper to drive - if you share the driving you can get to Agde from Calais in under 12 hours.

when i was down there i found a lovely little place just the other side of the river called 'tamarissiere'
we went down by camper van and took three days to do it. if you are going by car it's at least two days. there are loads of places to stop.
