witness questioning
I was recently involved in fight outside a pub which i did not start I left my name and the police came round my house
I indicated that I had a witness and asked them to speak to him they said they would 3 months passed no witness statement they said they could not find his were abouts
I had to goto crown court without a witness the other person had three mates make a witness statement plus the landlady they all disagreed with each other and I also found out my witness had been threatened off making a statement which I informed the police about still no action was taken I have since found out three months after the trial date the police had my so called mate in custody for 12 hours two months before my trial date they failed to question him made no attempt to even ask him about the night in question as the other witnesses put my mate in there statements should he have been questioned about this incident I pleaded not guilty right upto the trial date I had very poor legal aid help on my case and no help from the solicitor at all I had to plead guilty on advice from my litigation executive he said the case was corrupt but he did not want it to goto a jury Is the investigation corrupt should the police have questioned the witness I indicated to them can I appeal on this point.

From what I can make out it seems you would like to appeal on the grounds of having received bad or no legal advice, coupled with the fact that the police did not obtain a statement from your witness.
Since you pleaded guilty an appeal is virtually bound to fail (and in fact, is unlikely even to reach court). Appeals against conviction must usually be based on matters of fact or law. Your guilty plea means that you accepted the facts as presented by the prosecution and in a straightforward matter such as this it is unlikely that any matters of law are to be questioned.
I don�t know what you could have done differently as the circumstances surrounding your legal advice are not at all clear, but I think you�re stuck with the result.
