hi
i have joined as junior doctor in hospital on wednesday and taken the hospital accomodation.i was oncall on the day i took and the next day ,i didnt have the chance to inspect the property properly.it is a one room in 4 people sharing flat.i found out that flat is not suitable in terms of hygiene and safety .i went to the accomodation office on friday ,the day after i took the keys and told that i am not happy about the accomodation .the lady in charge who is the assistant to the manager ,rang her manager and said ,she will accept my cancellation and give my money back.
but later that day assistant to the manager left a message on my phone saying she will not be repaying the months rent i paid.she said even though i mighnot live there i have to pay month`s rent just because i signed the contract .
i asked her ,why she had agrreed to return the money when i gave the keys, and later changed her promise and refusing the money.
the answer to my question from her is ...i didnt promise to return the money to you ,i am afraid we can`t give the money as per the contract.

please can you tell me how to get my money 9300.00)back.i have given the keys only on the promise that she would return my money ,otherwise i wouldnot given my keys .
many thanks .
anna

Quite honestly, if the accommodation does not meet it's requirements set out in the contract (health and safety etc) then the contract has been broken by the accommodation provider, so you are surely entitled to ask for your money back.
