my father is locked up in East Baton Rouge parish prison. when my grandmother passed away she left everything to him and left him executor of estate, they told us that everything was going to go the way his mother wanted and now they are saying because he is locked up he isn't entitled to anything.. can anyone help me with this? i don't understand any of it and could use some advice.

Unfortunately, you've posted your question on a UK-based site, where the laws relating to inheritance are probably different to those in the USA. (In the UK, somebody who is in prison retains their right to inherit from a will, although there might be practical difficulties with them acting as executor of an estate).

There are a few American contributors to the Answerbank but I doubt whether any of them would have the relevant specialist knowledge to answer your question.
