I was wronfully terminated. I called in 4 times, leaving 1 message on the HR Manager's voicemail, advising that I needed to take an emergency vacation day. We are allowed 2 per year and this was the first time I have ever used one. Next thing you know, I am terminated. The HR mgr said I never called in. I have documentation from my phone company showing my 4 calls. I don't know where to begin in terms of filing a complaint. Any advisement would be much appreciated.

try going to a lawyer or an employment agency that deals with unfair dismissal.

You could start by asking for the reason in writinh from HR for your dismissal as you will need this

Your use of the words 'terminated' and 'advisement' (neither of which form part of regular British English), together with the timing of your post, suggests that you might be in the USA. The Answerbank is UK-based and our employment laws and practices are very different to those of the USA. So you might be more likely to get a useful response by posting on a US-based website, such as one of these:

Buenchico is correct in assuming you are in the USA.

The employment laws over there are vastly different from here in the UK, where, we are pleased to say, we have human rights issues in place. However, whilst I know it doesn't help your situation, I suggest this is becoming the thin end of the wedge with regard to the state of jobs in the marketplace. Having just returned from the USA following the economic events there over the past nine weeks I can confirm that no job is safe within this current climate and the first opportunity your businesses will endeavour is to dismiss each and every employee at the first available opportunity... the situation is becoming extremely serious for everyone - no job is safe ! This applies not only in America but worldwide. The recession is beginning to bite.
