councils duty of care?
I am experiancing problems with my neighbours to the point that I am on anti depressants and tranquilisers. They are constantly slamming doors, having late night get togethers until 3 in the morning, reving their car up in the early hours. In addition they have been slandering me and reporting that I have people living here that shouldnt be (I dont).
All the council seem to do is make a log but dont do anything. They wont move me despite the fact that its making me ill. The other neighbours wont say anything as they are friends of my next door neighbours.
What do I have to do to get the council to move me?
Its hard to get an exchange because of the area that I live in.

It is not the council's responsibilty to hold accommodation available in such an eventuality, but the council does have some responsibility to apply to a court for an eviction order against any of its residents who offend against their tenanacy regulations, including unwarranted noise or other like wilful misbehaviour to the annoyance of other residents. The court will not issue an order, however, if there is only one person who registers a complaint of nuisance.

You should keep a log of all the noise and disturbences Date, time, type of noise, how long it lasted etc If you can record as much of the noise as you can, even if it's just with a dictaphone.
I don't know how efective it would be but make arrangements to see you local counciler or mp on there open days (mps tend to have one every month) and take that months list and recordings with you so that they can see/hear what you have to put up with. If after a couple of months they haven't helped take it to the press!!!
