I recently had a drill repaired (albeit a specialized 'designer's'one) to the tune of 302 with the 'excuse' that the repair is under one year warranty for which I never asked. For that amount of money I could've bought a new, albeit more 'common' one. I think I'm being ripped off.Does anyone know who I can refer the matter to, as the repair Company refuses to back down.
Archburner... you are on a hiding to nothing mate... You claim to be able to do specialised repairs yourself then complain about the cost of someone else doing the repair. It is very common for quotes to be given excluding VAT for the simple reason that a lot of companies can reclaim the VAT back. Just go down to a plumbers or builders merchant and you will find all the prices are excluding VAT.
Please stop dissing our Ethel... she is great and we greatly appreciate her very good advice... I have never known Ethel to give bad advice, she would simply not say anything if she didn't know the answer.
ok, you accepted the quote even though it wasn't specific, so i'm afraid you have no recourse whatsoever. Have they have charged you extra for a "warranty" you havent asked for? i would suspect the warranty is free, just garunteeing the work that was done
