Im wanting to find out of what legislation gives the right for the police to have, and use power over people.
Im wanting a UK law, althought i'd assume most of them are all very simular

However, the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 sought to bring together, and to update, many earlier statutes. It remains the principal piece of legislation, currently in force, relating to UK police powers:
