i had some time off work as a close member of my family died, does my boss by law have to pay me or is he right making me time the time off as my holidays? and i work 30 hours aweek and he wont give me a contract does he have to by law?
As has been stated above he doesn't have to pay you for compassionate leave but i'm pretty sure you should have some kind of contract in place (providing you've been working there for longer than 2 months).
he is a new boss only took us over 2 years ago, ive been there 10 years or so, i have been asking him for my terms and conditions for the last 2 years, all i get is "your part time, (i work 30 hours) i dont give any of my part time staff contracts"
You don't make it clear whether he has joined the existing company or whether the company you worked for were taken over by his company (? Tupe transfer). In any case, you should be given a written statement of your terms and conditions of employment. Were you given one when you joined the company 10 years ago ? If so, then this is your legal contract unless there have been any changes to this, which should have been confirmed to you in writing.
