SKY TV wont cancel my subscription

Approx. 3 years ago my ex partner got Sky tv installed in our house, in his name and from his bank account. We split up 2 years ago and Sky have been taking the money from my account for this amount of time. I have tried to cancel the account and they said that it has to be done by the account holder, although I have explained I haven't seen him for 2 years they are still charging me and I dont even use the service anymore as I have Virgin Tv. Any ideas how I can get out of it?

I'd be surprised if Sky took any action against anyone if you tell them to discontinue the service and stop the direct debit.
