Hi there

my friend joined this site a little while back, and is being harrased by a member of this site, via emails.

Can she complain to the company that run this site?

What is being emailed to her is quite shocking to be honest. I have joined so I could ask for your help.

many thanks, jodie xx

I would certainly contact our Editor - use the facility in red at the very bottom of this page.

Give the details of the User concerned, and they will investigate.

You could always 'name and shame' the individual on here.
report them, or, create a new account...
The company can do nothing. The company strongly advises that members do not give out their email addresses and the site cannot be held responsible for anything that happens away from this site.

Why did your friend give out her email address on a public forum anyway?

Tell her to create a new account, forget the old one and not to be so daft as to give the address out willy nilly again.

Im not saying that this site is responsible for it, but they should be aware of this "monster" that users this site.

She did not give this person her email address. He gave her his and she "added" him.
tell her to block his emails
Either way- she was daft enough to allow her email address to be given/shown to someone she hardly knew.

Email addresses can be had for free- its no big deal at all. Just tell her to create a new one, let her real friends know the new addres and voila, problem solved.
by "adding" them then she did give her mail to him.

She should ditch the account and setup a new one and be more careful who she adds in future.

Your friend can call the police about it, I know for a fact they will not think she is nuts for approaching them and they will investigate into it.

If the perpetraitor doesn't break any Site Rules, then I daresay the people who run it don't give a monkey's whether others think he or she is a "monster".

Why have you posted this to us rather than mailing the editor directly? Surley he will be the only one to give you 100% accurate responses to your questions?
What a person does away from this site is of no interest or concern to the editor
There must be a blocking facility on the e-mail account.
Do not respond by answering any abusive e-mails.
Or simply open another account.
I do not think naming and shaming on here will do any good, it will just be denied.
The ED cannot do anything about what happens away from this site.

Your'e right, she was silly. Seeing what he guy has sent to her is quite shocking, and to be honest I am worried for others on here that may know him or speak to him.

i think everyone needs to be warned about him
You can block specific(incoming) email addresses, either at your ISP Mailbox,or (as I do) in my Norton Internet Security programme.
If you do either, the offending email will dumped in the Spam folder, and she won't even have to know it's arrived.
I bet I know who it is too!

Can your friend just not block the E mails from this person. I doubt the AB Editors will care, as lots of abuse has gone on here and nothing is ever done. IDs get banned, but the perpetrators, just come back with a new ID.
Oh just name him....we all know that'a the point of this post anyway....

No Knowledge, smell what you like, but I can assure you what was sent to her is real and quite frightening.

I understand the editor or owner of this site cannot do anything about it, but I feell they should know that a very strange and twisted person uses this site. Other users of this site could be at risk.

I am only advising people to be careful, thats all.
How can we be wary if we don't know who it is we've to be wary of?
