penalties for un taxed car on road
i had a car parked on the road near mine which was un-taxed but it was SORN and i thought it was ok but i got a ticket and now iam in court,what are the penalties for this,thay can't give me any point's on my licence can they,i really thought it would be ok.

Yeah, it is a bit silly to declare it off road when it wasn't at all. I suppose worst case scenario they can seize the car, and if fines etc, aren't paid, destroy it.
Bit of advice though - I had an untaxed car for the last month (basically I was using up the tax on my current car and then taxing this one) so I kept it in my pub car park for the duration. The guvnor didn't mind and it was legally off road.
