Which is best ?

A friend of mine has suffered a fall on Council property & damaged her knee, she wants to put in a claim against the Council & has been advised by another friend not to use one of these "no win no fee" type solicitors, but an independant one.

She is a bit unsure as to what to do, as obviously, money is a factor (not what she could get, but how much it could cost her)

Has anyone had experience of any of these type companies, if so - recommend one ?

If she is a member of a union they will probably take the claim and represent her for no cost. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use a 'no win no fee' rep, and I would be wary of advising anyone to incure legal charges from a regular lawyer. Your friend should check her household insurance as many policies now cover you for personal injury.

Thanx "Thuggy" but, no she is not in any union - also, if she claims against her own household insurance - that would possibly increase her premium for the next time !

The liability rests with the Council on this one, as it was due to a wet surface (with no warning signs) so, it's just a matter of trying to find which is the best avenue to pursue with it !
