Housing Association House, What are the limits?

I'm a bit concerned that my sister in law is living in a HA house under false pretenses. I was wondering if there was an earning limit that would prevent you from living in such a house. For example her husband to be earns around 900 - 1400 a week! They had a mortgage a few years back when he earned less and had the house repossessed and I don't think they can get another mortgage, but surely this doesn't give them the right to live in a house meant for the less fortunate.
Any info would be appreciated.

If they have had one home repossesed, Don't you think they have been unfortunate enough,?

Not really, I suppose I should explain why they had it repossessed. They were more bothered about being a cut above everybody else to pay their mortgage. They brought a new car, designer clothes, latest gadgets, you get the idea!
I expect they were in need when they were first housed. As far as I know the HA doesn't evict you for keeping up with your rent.

Why are so concerned about it?
I'm more interested in what kind of job pays 900-1400 per week, I want one!!!
It sounds to me as though you would like to see them thrown out again,

Sour grapes,?

Sigh! No it's not sour grapes, I was just asking but I'm fairly sure she's claiming as a single parent again. I don't want to see them thrown out, I wasn't going to dob them in to anybody, I just wanted to know if this was right as surely there is no point having council houses or HA houses if the well off can live in them.
I live in a privately rented house and have never tried to get council housing etc and was just wondering how it worked.
but you still have to pay rent no matter if it's council/HA or privately rented
anyone can live in a housing association property, are you actually saying that she is claiming and recieving housing benefit based on her living there on her own? If that is the case, and remember she could have changed the claim, then she is making a false claim, but she is not living there under false pretences. why do you think a housing association property is meant for the less fortunate? I don't understand that part, would you prefer the local authority paid their rent for them|?
Some people seem to think that the only people who live in council or HA properties are on benefits....this is very ill-informed!!!
My partner's parents worked all their adult lives and were housed in a council house, his father has never been unemployed since leaving school to retirement. They own their ex-council house outright now but for many years before that were tenants.
There are no 'limits' as you put it as to how much a person can earn and still live in HA housing.
I've lived in a HA flat for 17 years now and before I became ill I was earning good money so it has nothing to do with income, also a chap has just moved into the flat above me and he just uses the flat for weekdays while he works in this area, he has his own house which he uses at weekends but if you are talking about housing benefit that's another matter.
