As a few of us didnt make it to work
Talking to the missus she reckons work will make her take today as leave becuase she was unable to get into work today. Can they do this? or is it down to a companies discretion how they handle exceptional circumstances like this?

However, if you are in the position that you are able to work from home then you can do that. Our boss said to us today to take whatever we can home with us in case the weather is bad and we can do what we can from home, which I thought was fair.
I only live a couple of miles away, so I can probably get in, but my problem would be if they shut the school for the kids.
My employer also runs their own bus service for staff anyway and a shuttle to and from the railway station, so I think they probably do their best to enable staff to get to work.
