I plan to write a book which will be filled with a collection of news stories on a certain subject.
Is there anything stopping me from trawling the internet for stories and using them for the book? I realise that I would probably have to state where I got my information from - newspaper name.
Can I use quotes and should I attribute them to a person, an alias or use terms like 'a neighbour'?
The book is about people dying in stupid circumstances - can anybody foresee any additional problems that I might have in using this subject area? Obviously I am keeping the 'exact' nature of the book to myself just now - but I want it to be as tasteful as it can be.
Thanks for any help and guidance.
