At the age of 18 I was charged with and pled guilty to 3 felonies. I am now 22, have completed my associate's degree and am working on bachelors. I completed a program to have the felonies expunged. They have been expunged from my state's records (MO), but I ran an FBI background check on myself and the charges and pleas still show up. I have spoken with the judge presiding over my case, and she said her understanding is that there is nothing she can do to remove them from the FBI records. I want very much to become a Registered Nurse. To obtain my license I have to undergo an FBI background check. I don't think the state board will allow me to get a license with the charges and guilty plea still visible. I have become a different person since my mistakes, and I have the potential to do so much. I want to have a real career and do something that's productive. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there any way to clear my FBI record? Do I need to look into another career?
