how do you make a claim on an indemnity insurance policy if you cant sell your property

I'm not sure what you mean.
What are you thinkink of claiming for? What does the policy cover?
Yes, you need to tell us more.
One assumes that you have an indemnity policy because of some defect in the title of your land or the structure of your house.
If that is the case, then it indemnifies YOU in the event of a claim from a third party (on the land) or the house falls down (on the structure side). The policy isn't normally transferable. A new buyer acquires one in much the same way as you did. If the risk is not great, they aren't expensive.
All of the above (if a true analysis of your situation) should confirm to you that such a claim for the situation you describe is not on.
