I live in bungalow to which my frontroom, back of house is next to a pathway with grass on either side of pathway, i have no boudaries from this bit of large area of grass, Problem is kids keep playing football against my fence and house in one case knocking mirror of the wall which scratched my 40 inch wide screen, also damaging radiator cover and new laminated flooring, They have also damaged fence quite a few times costing me alot of money.......Now I did report the damage but thier is nothing they can do as i didnt see the kids that actually did this damgage, I have been asking the council to put a sign up, as over the rd same path way they have a no ball sign, The council say they do not put signs up anymore,(Even though i have a sign just out there and dog poo bin saying pick up dogs mess) I have pleaded with them and they told me. To keep a log, and to keep calling police, I told them I think that all this is a waste of police time, and our money. But they said i had to do this, For them to take notice....Anyway the council several yrs later, Ad me more damage later they put up a temp sign in laminate....This was brill I just popped head over fence, told them to read sign and off they went no cheek . Great!!! But a week later iI heard it being ripped off, so I looked over and it WASNT a kid but a mum of the kids, I called police as i know if i lose it i will be the one arrested, The police went to see her and told me oh not to worry, As the mum had a solution, She would buy her kids goal post and foam ball??? i told police it is not the solution, As it was not just her kids, but about 8 differant groups of all ages playing, I have them playing from 9.am up till 9.30pm sometimes, so this would not solve my problem..1 lady comnity plc officer told me if i dont like it i should move, another lady officer said it was tough i would just have to live with it.As i didnt own that bit of land,I said nor do the kids,who 3 parks and a f/ball pitch very close by. HELP

Do you have any teenage children that live with you?

If not invest in a 'wasp'. It is a sound deterant that emits a noise that (apparently) only teenagers can hear. It is effective but has been banned in some areas due to it infringing the poor little yobs civil liberties. Put one up with out saying anything and see if there is a difference....

To be honest other than buying the land from the highways department I don't think there is much you can do. Even if they did put a permenent sign up it wouldn't make that much difference.

Keep the log and keep hassleing the council.

(get a wasp anyway as you will always have this problem.)

Have had problem neighbours....police told me to report hassles to police to deal with & collect URN numbers for future civil case regarding dispute.

Thank you,I know im hitting my head against a brick wall here.. Their is also to iron gates just beside me , which are always getting broken through this and that noise, and know im also paying for that on coucil tax to be fixed grrrrrr just infuriates me,,.. But I blame that mother who ripped the sign off,And as i now know her address she mouthed of loudly to me, I think might take up bouncing my giant space hopper outside her house at all times, If i cant have peace in my home she wont either, And cos she doesnt own that land I cant be removed???? As its down to her lazyness by letting the boys play away from her house and not taking them to a park less than 100 yrds away, she looked like she could do with the exercise. thanks for answer xxx

thank you Tamb, The police were also telling me to keep ringing them, it was two lady community police about 2 yrs later told me to move or live with it,,,,,,Do you know if they are the same as normal police??? so after what they have said i have lost all faith in them as it was the police who said to keep calling,,,,,, Also sorry to sound stupid what is a URN number??? thanks foe answering xxxkimbobo

The first house we bought ( Ex NCB) was a corner plot with a large lawn which a certain family had been in the habit of sending their kids to play on. When I fenced it off one of the kids kicked a panel in and told me his dad said I wasn't allowed to fence it, when I took the bill round one thing led to another with the result that I had to batter the father a little, after that I had no problems with the neighbours. I know it doesn't help your problem but things were easier to sort out 30 years ago, funnily I still see the kid knocking about with his kids and he always laughs and tells them the story of when he got their grandad a good hiding

i would be careful investing in wasp as you could be liable for private nuisance, and depending how powerful perhaps even public nuisance.

i believe that local authorities have been forced to stop using this method.

oh well at least you lot have made me laugh. lol I wish i could batter her, And at the time when the thing(mother) was shouting at me, I had these stupid fluffy boot slippers on, else i would of ran out and knocked her out,, Oh yes about 3 yrs ago the kids called the police on me, As i was swearing at them,I had also tested out my hose pipe to see how far it reached!!! I used hose pipe to full extent and managed to get most of them. So when policeman came in garden he looked at hose pipe and laughed , but i got told off for swearing at the Kids, I told him they were very lucky i didnt run out with knife and stab ball, he again laughed and said i still wasnt allowed to swear,,,,,And i really shouldnt do that as i would be the one getting nicked. I said also next time i got possesion of there ball I would stab it,he replied that, I iwas not allowed to touch touch the ball unless giving it back to them, So after mouthy mother ripped sign off the other week, I will no longer give them any of the footbslls back,,, As I have taken photos of balls, And will know they have tresspassed on my property to get it,, ( As they have in past got there own ball back,So maybe this will eventually stop them, Thats when I cant see anything but balls in my back garden,,,, But surely after a certain time , Possesion is so many parts of the law???????? IM NOT going to weaken and give balls back anymore . I cant believe om not allowed to touch them when they are on my land?????,, The law isnt rite at all... OH by the way they have got a football pitch and 3 parks all within walking distance and the kids are full of energy as they have proven on many occasions> But they chose to use my fence and house.?????...
