How much is the fine for Driving without due care and attention?

Would it be the same amount, if the driver pleads guilty by post, in person or not guilty?

My brother is being charged with this and has been told he will recieve 4 - 6 points but every website I have seen says 3 - 9 points, which is correct?

I don't know the full answer, but anyone who pleads guilty at the earliest possible time (by post, I would think) receives an automatic third off any sentencing, including fines.

if it's going to court, pleading not guilty and being found guilty will result in a higher sentence, whatever form that may take.

The Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 clearly states the points to be imposed range from 3 to 9 points. It also states the fine is Level 4 on the Standard Scale which currently up to 2,500.
Depending on the severity of the offence will indicate the amount of points he / she receives.
