tv licensing. is it a criminal offence not to have one?

The obvious answer is "yes", provided of course you ares using TV receiving equipment to watch or record TV programmes without a valid licence,I

s there a reason why you think it might not be.

many thanks factor30 . Yes i have relevant licence, interested in why you still needed one if only watched tv through Catch up tv / BBC iplayer etc. as this would not be shown through tv aerial.
Don't think you would need one just for that.
