Second charge of ABH for ex - what will happen?
My ex is already on an assualt via battery charge for hitting a minor. He is now up for an ABH charge on me for breaking my ribs. (He will say provoked if that makes a difference?) The case has been adjourned and is going to crown court in a couple of weeks. From what I know this doesn't look good and may result in a prison sentence which wouldn't be good for anyone involved. Does anyone know about this sort of thing and what the likely outcome would be? Please don't respond just saying he deserves what he gets!! Thank you.

Yes, I think you may well be right. It doesn't look good but the fact that he's pleading guilty will at least be taken into account by the Court and will spare you the ordeal of having to give evidence.
He may well use provocation as some form of defence, but the fact that you sustained broken ribs is a pretty convincing argument as to who the guilty party was.
A conviction for ABH at Crown Court could conceivably carry a custodial sentence of up to 5 years, although clearly the actual punishment will be at the discretion of the Judge.
Hope this helps.
