My partner left the shared home two and a half years ago.
Has paid nothing towards the joint mortgage in that time.
I have owned the property for 14 years, my ex was included onto the current mortgage and contributed for 5 years until they left.

What are my rights?
Is my ex entitled to equity?
Can I have my ex partners name taken of the motgage?

hi, 1) he/she may well be entitled to a proportion of the equity (is there any?) i would have though though they would only take into account th rise in the five years he/she was paying, not the whole 14 years
2) you can only take his/her name off of the mortgage if you remortgage on your own
do you have a cab near you? they may be able t help
I assume the ex is on the Title Register or deeds to the property. If that is the case the ex's name cannot be removed from the mortgage.
If his/her name is on Title or deeds then s/he is as much a legal owner as you are.
