Hello all

I am in the process of buying a freehold house. The house has the benefit of a leasehold garage. In the lease the landlord has to insure the garage but my solicitors have found out the landlord is not insuring it. The garage is in a block of 4 with a flat above so it may be a bit tricky to get buildings insurance on just our bit.

Does anyone know where we stand on this?

If it is a term of the lease that they insure it then they are breaching the lease by not doing so.

Is there definitely no buildings insurance on the whole building with the flat and garages in place?
