Am I allowed to protect my home and garden from intruders by gluing carpet gripper strips to the top of a 6` wall to keep the beggars out?

I've done that, and so has my neighbour, but so far we haven't heard any anguished screams in the night, so we don't know whether or not we'll wind up in court.

Thanks Androcles, I am growing a nice thick Pyracantha along the top of the wall but there is one place it hasn`t quite reached yet, about 2` and that is where I have been getting a pesky teenager taking a short-cut over my garden, which my wife tends for me, too old you see.
A solution a neighbour of mine used was to place a large quantity of Horshe manure at the appropriate point. The intruder was extremely unhappy with the designer jeans and trainers ending up covered in Horsh....

I have now put a thick lot of black dirty axle grease on top of the wall, that`ll stop em.
