do black helicopters with a yellow roof belong to the police? Also i think there is yellow on the tail.
and why woud it be hovering over the middle of a town. Having a guess i would say over a working class area and a sports centre and college, for 20 minutes? and now i can jsut about see it in the distance and its going over the whole town??????
Molly, I'm just recieving a message through my sources about a raid on an island in surrey? Apparantly the Police are handing over to the military, and the order No Prisoners has been given. This means the only guys coming out of there are the ones in black boiler suits.
Leg it whilst you still can molly, for the love of god RUN!!!
Since you've previously indicated that you live in Suffolk, this was almost certainly the helicopter you saw:

It's based at the Wattisham army base, which isn't that far from where I live. Consequently that damned noisy helicopter has a nasty habit of passing over my house just as I'm trying to get to sleep!
Our local police force has a page that tells you why the chopper has been up. Sometimes its for traffic reasons, sometimes someone's fallen in the weir, sometimes they follow people who have been stealing sunglasses from the shopping centre (I kid you not)
They can also use thermal imaging devices to see if they can recognise properties used for cannabis-growing..........(this is usually at night, however.)
Didn't know you were near Wattisham, Chris. That's where my boy has been stationed for the past 5-years.
There's been one round here lately, ours is black but they are always beavering around between the docks and the barracks in Folkestone, Manston airport etc. Perhaps they're on a mission with their see-through equipment - spot the ABer!
Whilst at Wattisham he was REME.
He's presently transferring..........He is training with AAC and wears all their insignia, but still has blue beret and REME insignia.
Jack that's insteresting about the cannabis, every so often a raid is reported round here and x thousand plants come to light - I wondered how they spotted them, not like they are growing out the windows or anything like that. Thermal imaging eh <<damn I'd better warn my mate about their tomatoes>>
The Electricity Companies flag up properties with a disproportionate fuel consumption; then the TI cameras are brought out..........if the house 'lights-up' it's usually raided.
Spent 3 years at Wattisham myself .. 56Sqn Phantoms
Used to be pure Air Force front line. We ran IAF from there.
Nice area .. good pub still open at Barking Tye : )
Used to be our spillover NAAFI bar ... open all hours.
