police complaint
I am having problems with my next door neighbour and the noise from his house. He is a police officer. We are semi detatched and the walls are quite thin. When he comes in late at night he bangs his doors including the kitchen cupboards. He has his kids every fortnight and the noise is unbareable. He spends most of the time shouting at them.So loud and clear that we can hear word for word. He sometimes has his old mum to stay and he does the same to her.We have written to him twice explaining how it affects us. And we have spoken or at least tried several times. Can we go to the police complaints about his anti social behaviour?

How would you feel if one of your neighbours reported you to your place of work for something you done that has absolutely nothing to do with your work?
Start keeping a diary of the noise when it effects you and the times and report him to environmental health at your local council.

We have been putting up with this for over a year and enough is enough. We are going to get some advice next week. The reason I asked if we could could report him to his own is because thier own code of conduct covers off duty as well as on duty. If anyone should be aware of being anti social is is a police officer.. The next few weeks could be interesting. Thanks everyone.
Of course their code of conduct covers off and on duty. If this person is acting in an anti social manner then call to your local station, ask for the Duty Inspector and make your feelings felt. The Police will certainly take it on board. How can an officer when on duty attend houses of members of the public and instruct them to turn down music or stop making a disturbance if they are not governed by the same law. If this doesn't work call the Police and inform them you would like a patrol to attend. I'm sure he is not aware of the problem he is causing and will back off and accommodate when he faces sanction from work
