my friend has just started her nursery nursing course and has to have a crb done. she is really worried that it wont come back ok. she had to go to court re a motoring offence and got 6 points and a fine of 400 pounds last year i think it was. will this go against her? she was found guilty, not for speeding but for not providing evidence or something. she didnt have a solicitor to represent her so just accepted it.

The CRB in itself doesn't come back 'ok' or 'not ok', it simply details somebody's criminal record and it is up to the potential employer if they think something on the record means the person can or cannot work for them.

As your friend went to court this offence will show up on the check but I would think it very odd if the nursery thinks a motoring offence means they are not suitable to work with children.

As a precaution I would get her to tell them first (in very simple terms) before the check comes back so it isn't a surprise.
I work in a nursery and before that was a childminder
I went to court for a driving offence (driving without due care and attention - sounds much worse than it was/is) and this does not show on my CRB check. I got 9 points but only a £60 fine plus costs
