I assume that 'nh', in your post, refers to New Hampshire. The Answerbank is a UK-based site and, while we welcome questions from anywhere in the world, you won't find many experts on US law around here. (For what it's worth, here in the UK you can do most things on your own land for up to 28 days. Thereafter you might need planning permission for 'change of use').
