High court enforcement agency want to take our car away. Approx £14k owed on it and due to credit crunch we cant re-finance the debt.. We have tried to negotiate but Porsche are not having any of it. Can we offer a lump sum of £1000 and make monthly payments until the debt is clear. I thought as long as you offer something they cant take the car away. Any thoughts anyone?
I believe you can make them on offer and if accepted, that has to be paid in one lump sum. You can try making an offer but they don't have to accept it. They will want to reclaim as much cost as possible.
Generally finance companies would prefer not to have the hassle of having the car back so I'm surprised they are not happy with your offer. However it is up to them there is no legal way to make them accept the deal. I guess the fact that it's gone to court means that payments have been missed and as such they are reluctant to enter into an agreement with potential for further missed payements. Sounds like they beleive they can sell the car for enough to repay what is owed.
