Ebay or Paypal to raise a dispute?
I've already put this under 'How it works' but thought maybe I should ask under Law...We bought an item on Ebay but received the wrong item. We contacted the seller and he replaced it but only after giving us every story under the sun to try and get us to believe we had the correct item. The replacement is clearly still not what we ordered - the seller has simply removed a label and stuck a label from the item we required over the top! We want to raise a dispute now, as we have no faith in the seller supplying what we paid for, but I can't understand whether we should use Paypal to raise the dispute or Ebay. It seems we have the option of either. Any advice? Thanks

Contact the seller & explain what you INTEND doing if he / she does not refund you fully, tell them you intend adding to their feedback what you think of the seller, if that does not work go back to your Feedback section & state what the seller has done, if they have good feedback this should damage their reputation, Pay pal only gets involved if the goods have not been received or you are waiting for payment. EBay is the avenue for this problem, had something similar but I sorted it.
I wouldn't add the feedback until the transaction is finalised one way or the other, I'd prefer to give the seller the chance to rectify it (again) - bad feedback causes bad feeling if they are trying to put it right. IMO -but there is nothing to stop you telling the seller that this is what you intend to do. See many more answers on the other version of this question.
