I've been able to transcribe an 1803 will with its admon but fell at the last fence. The final words are.

'the substituted Executor named in the said Will having withdrawn the execution thereof and conocuted??? as by Act of Court appear

Is there such a word?

It's not a typo of 'conducted' is it?
Question Author
Thanks for your helpful suggestion, but the italic script clearly shows '...ocuted',

It's not vital but I like to be 100% accurate and having coped with
'residing at Bruxelles in the dept. of the Dyle'
and
'my body I return to the Earth desiring that I may be decently buried at [blank] but I expressly require that I may be kept above Ground as long as possible and not buried till visible Marks of Putrefaction appear on my body and declared as such by my attending Physician'.
This is the one remaimhg uncertainty.
my friend works at the national archives and has written a book about old wills - i will ask him.
Could you upload a scan or photo of the bit you are looking at? I'm used to reading old property docs and might be clearer to someone when they can see it.
Question Author
Jenna1978. I'll photocopy my photocopy tomorrow and see if it will Paste.

Bednobs. Should your friend be sufficiently interested, the will is of Charlotte Amiel and there is nobody else of the same name in TNA index..
i have emailed him, but he is away for xmas, so we'll see :)
my friend says, could it be commissioned? Can you scan it so he can look?
in the absence of a scan, my friend says "The state took over the proving of wills after 1858 - before then it was the
Church's responsibility, so the language can be different and more archaic"
Question Author
Unfortunately I can't find a way to Paste a scan here.

However, the enlarged scan makes it very clear that there is little doubt that the word is conocuted as the writing is good.
Many thanks for your suggestions.
perhaps you could ask your local church?
