the supermarkets were selling kangaroo and I think crocodile during the mad cow crisis. I don't recall liking them much, and I went back to sane cows asap
Some people (my brother) actually eat fluffy little bunny rabbits. I hate to think what is going to happen to my kitties if he ever gets his hands on them.
So I'm now wondering, If you visit a rescue centre and offer to re-home a cat, take it home and humanely dispatch it and bung it in the oven.....
Although utterly abhorrent, is it illegal?
Whale meat?

Apart from health and animals nearing extinction would there be any other reason to make them illegal to consume?
It takes a lot of grain to feed animals to make meat for the table. We'd be all better for it if we went veggie.

Incorrect sandywroe as protein from vegetable sources is substandard in my opinion.
GB Shaw lived to over 90 years old and was a lifelong vegetarian. It didn't do him any harm.
Question Author
Sandywroe had he/she have eaten meat then maybe he/she may have lived to 102!

Incidentally is there a link with vegetarianism and an increased lifespan?
We have deer poaching locally, which is a nasty way of killing by the way, and it is certainly against the law to deal in poached venison. The person at the end of the chain probably wouldn't know but the seller would be prosecuted.
Freudanslip, both were jerky, so dried and stringly. I can only liken the kangaroo to rabbit/game in taste, and the crocodile somewhere between fish and chicken. Both quite unique in flavour and certainly not unpleasant.
Vegetarians suffer less heart diseases, less cancers, and are more likely than most not to be overweight. While I don't have a link to show that they enjoy longer lives it's probable that they do.

This is all I know on the subject

Regarding Rasmans comment about adopting a cat-then taking it home for dinner. You usually sign a contract or agreement with a shelter-agreeing to care for said animal. I doubt cooking it comes under the heading of 'care'........so criminal or animal cruelty charges come to mind

And Freudian-I suggest you google GB Shaw..........'he/she'...tsk,tsk......
Swans, unless you have HRH permission
