Apparantly due to previous incidences, when our phone number rings 999 an alert should come up on the screen in the call centre place saying that this'll be a proper incident and not someone mucking around with a cat stuck up the tree, so we should get the police coming round quicker than they normally would.

15 minutes later . . .

It's possible that they've gone to the other places to try and catch them though . . .

We weren't in emmediate danger but they're trying to catch these people as quickly as possible. They never did come - they possibly went to other places they are known to be, but someone rang up later on, saying someone will visit us tomorrow.
"someone"? they must have said who they were

*immediate for your future reference
I'd love to answer your question, but you seem to have forgotten to ask one.
If your address is flagged you should have had the proper response. I'd contact them about it if it was me.
Aesop?
they can only get there as quick as their cars and traffic will allow...they are not magic
and depending on what other incidents are occuring at the time.
