Why Do Celebs Bother Getting Together - It Never Works Out

Coldplay singer Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are to separate after more than 10 years of marriage.
Why do celebs get together when everyone knows that it will end, eventually.
They would be better getting together with a person not in showbiz.

I suppose if you are a celebrity you are more likely to come into close contact with other celebrities than with non-celebrities, they fall in love and marry. Is the divorce rate any higher though than for non-celebs or for celeb/nonceleb combinations? I haven't seen the figures

Relationships end sometimes, not just for celebs.

Speaking as a person not in showbiz! I wouldn't want a relationship with a celeb, I doubt it'd last 10 mins let alone 10 years.

10 years of marriage is pretty good going. It must be hard keeping a relationship going with work schedules and paps.

Its not as if they were an 'item' for just a few months. Ten years is still a long relationship. Sometimes it just doesn't last "forever"...celeb or not.

The older generation will always make a go of it because they know the true value of love and marriage, even during the bad times.
The younger generation tend to give up too easily when things don't work out and won't compromise or try and fix the problems.

All I was really getting at was that the working hours and work locations of these celebs will always make them spend lots of time apart. Long distance relationships very seldom work out.
You pick up the papers and there's another story about another celebrity couple splitting up at least on average once a month. It's like a curse.
Can they not see the pattern forming here.

Apparently the average length of a marriage these days is 11.3 years, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow married in 2003. Not bad going for people living in the spotlight and no doubt spending lengthy periods apart.
