Nothing - she gets an allowance.

She sponged 37.4 million pounds in 2006.

Isn't that less than David Beckham? ;o)
Too Much!!!
Try Eltonjohn.com and look in the salary section!
to earn money you (or perhaps I should say 'one') have to work!

anyone know of a website that lists jobs that involve being driven by a chauffeur and waving a bit?
Still only about 50p per tax payer....I think it's well worth it and she also brings money into the country form tourism and she does a lot for charities. Look at what they waste on the Head of State in the States. Firstly they get to have George Bush, after spending loads on expensive election campaigns, then there's security to pay for in case he is assassinated, then his salary, private jets (Airforce 1) and he has made idiotic decison to go to war, wasting billions of tax payers money on killing thousands of innocent people... Long live the Queen and the rest of the Royals, the alternatives are much worse.

To earn money ones doesnt necessarily have to 'work'

I believe she allows her subjects to trample on her carpets during the summer for a small fee at Buckingham Palace, plus other royal establishments

plus she also a rather savvy investor dabbling in this and that
While you and I are paying more and more tax, she is skimming millions from the plebs. Parasite.

Hands o'rf Her Maj !! She gives tremendous prestige to this nation, and in reality costs each of us only a few pence each year. Her devotion to duty is an example to us all.
the queen doesnt actually make an awfull lot. she is awarded a subsidy, the actual amount of money earned is something that really cant have a figure put upon it.

Even as an allowance, in my eyes it's still way to much. And what's more why the hell does she and Phillip need all that room that is Buckinghm Palace? They should be hoofed out of there and it made into flats for the many homeless in London, and for them to be given a one bedroom place (maybe a bungalow) like any other poor sod that it happens to in that situation.
After us kids left home (a 4 bed council house) my dad was more or less forced into a 1 bed flat in order for a larger family to have our old house, so why not them?

Anyone with half an ounce of sense (or reads newspapers) would realise that the Queen occupies just a small suite of modest rooms in the palace. Just as with any other country in the world there is always a building containing state apartments whether it be the White House in the US or the Kemlin in Russia. This is where the head of state, in our instance the queen, entertains on behalf of the nation. Just as with any large corporation which spends lavish amounts on entertaining to attract business, this country is the same postion when entertaining foreign powers etc. Her majesty adds such prestige and dignity to these occasions, that it is so that this country prospers as it does. The royal family rarely if ever entertain privately in Buckingham Palace
The queen in her private life lives quite modestly for a woman of her class, as shown in pictures taken by an undercover reporter, of her rooms a couple of years ago. I think we were all surprised to see breakfast laid out in tupperware boxes and a small transistor radio on the table. Truth is the queen does not have an army of personal sevants waiting on her hand and foot and prefers the simple pleasures in life, like watching racing on TV and walking her dogs.
