This is going to niggle at me now! What you said rang a bell with me. I think the guru was Bob Grant - in the Beatles film 'Help'.Cameo role, short appearance, not in the film credits! Relying on an old memory, though - can't find any images on Google - hope I don't have to go through the whole film to set my mind at rest!!

in a comedy sketch/film, a silent character, riding a bike,
possibly dressed as a priest, and he keeps having collisions while on this bike out on the road, and it ending up in a mangled up mess..

2003, according to the 'On the Buses' site. That series finished in the 70s, the Beatles film was 1960-something. Whatever the answer, you must admit that Bob Goody and Bob Grant look very much alike - and that's where I started my search this evening!!
