for 7AM to get hubby to hospital for his small, insignificant operation.

Having thanked the Nursing Staff last week for their wonderful consideration and the nice lady at the taxi office, (Is a special taxi required?)

Just thought I'd post on interweb about very nice people out there.

They each do their job, but isn't it nice to encounter those who go that extra?
alba, I hope your H will be OK. Good wishes to him.

jem
There are loads of nice people out there :-)
We had a power cut on Sunday morning. I always ring to make sure they know we have one, as we live out in the sticks. When power comes on again I always ring to say its back on and Thank you. I think they make a note of it because they say, Oh yes you are the nice lady who says thanks, everyone else gets cross.:) and never thank us. Makes me feel good
Question Author
Jem Thank you,. His diagnosis makes me chuckle big style tho. (Loose bodies in knee) He is and has been a pain (in pain) for ages, so getting this out of the way is good.

Ummmm. I know there are, but just to buck the trend for once, it's nice to come across them.
Alba, I hope all goes well for your hubby , and you are both home soon xx
hope Mr Alba's operation goes well.
Hi alba. Now you know that no op is insignificant! Hope all goes well for him and that you continue to receive the very best service from everyone with you deal throughout this time xx

He's having a general and thought we're coming home by bus (gawd love 'im)
With his other health thingies it's a bit of a worry.

Many thanks to B00 and flump for kind wishes too x
Yes alba, I find that there are lots of nice folk out there, sometimes it depends on the way you speak to and treat them, I always try to be firendly and helpful myself, and mostly, it pays off!........

Long story short, yes Welsh, ask nicely and folk will more than likely to be helpful.

OH apologised for being early on Thursday, I phoned taxi this pm and asked for advice and help about booking. Lovely people out there, I hope they get appreciated by more than us AB'ers
Hope all goes well for your OH tomorrow alba!......
Question Author
Thank you very much. I.m sure it will but we do worry about others don't we?

Will bore you all rigid tomorrow or Wed morning that he is fine

Many thanks folks
Hope it goes well for Mr Alba, good idea booking the taxi. When my OH was at the clinic for his ultrasound on his heart there was an old guy in a wheelchair sat on his own. He'd been waiting over 2 hours for transport back home. He couldn't walk far so I assume he hadn't had anything to eat or drink since leaving home.
Doesn't it make you feel really good when people are helpful and caring.
I hope your hubby's op goes well.

oh my lawdy, 2 hours is dreadful. Even 1/2 hour for someone who has to attend hospital is dreadful.

My MIL had to attend for dialysis 3 times a week and thanks to the volunteer drivers, her journey there and back was more comfy than the provided patient transport. (Sounds ungrateful, however I know resources are limited)
I had to wait 8 hours for A&E - was on the verge of going home beause I could not longer stand the pain. Something has to be done there very much.

Understaffed and over-worked.
