American 80's show ?

Once where a man flashes his golden medallion and an eagle appears and, as far as I remember attacks people ?

Also, another American show, where an astronaut returns to earth and realises he has developed creature like super powers. I remember finding it creepy as his eyes changes when exposed to the sun.

Possibly could be Manimal. I vaguely remember it from when I was younger. I think it showed again on Bravo a few years back but I didn't catch it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manimal

It wasn't Maniman. But i remember that scaring the pants out of me in all the transformation scenes (same with Hulk TV series!) as kid !

No it wasn't a fantasy. I know its very vague, but just thought i'd give it a shot.

Can you remember anything else about it. Definitely an eagle? Set in the modern day (well, 80's anyway)? Drama? Comedy?

Yes Northstar was the one. That was brilliant for its time ? I don't know why they didn't carry on with it. With an intriguing concept of the show, they could may well make a Hollywood blockbuster movie on it.

I give up on the "eagle" one. I was only about 4 or 5 years old. Maybe it was a just a character introduced in an American TV show ?

By the way, talking about these shows, what was so significant about Automan ?

The "eagle" one is "The Phoenix" from 1981-82. You can watch the intro here. You can see his medallion has an eagle on it :-)
