She appears to have a great deal of experience and seems knowledgeable about psychology. I'm just curious to know, does she have any qualifications in this field ie: a degree?

Or any children even?
Question Author
yes, quite!
Just looked on Wikipedia and there are no qualifications mentioned - not saying she hasn't helped some people but she gets on my flipping nerves.

She was in our neck of the woods recently when my husband was out running. He smiled and said 'good morning' to the people she was with as well as her. The people she was with acknowledged and returned the greeting but she just frowned at my husband as if to say 'don't you know who I am'!!
Stop watching her then!! I cant stick the program so I turn over.
Hi Ratter - I don't watch them, not sure if it is her or the seemingly stupid people she helps but her programmes just wind me up.
Question Author
I don't watch her, I was flicking through the channels and saw it was on which reminded me of when my husband met her
I cant imagine she was out running too!
it seems to me that the qualification she has is one that seems lacking in many, but of course not all, parents............common sense and the ability to make parents realise that they are the ones in charge and not the children.
I think she has many years experience but no formal qualifications beyond Level 3 childcare-y type thing that allows you to nanny. I like the program; bit of car crash telly but what she gives as advice is mostly common sense; routines, consistency etc it's just that the parents need someone to actually give them the support to enforce it.

Yeah, you've hit the nail on the head there. So she probably gets paid millions for doing precisely that.
Too often you hear "But if I discipline them (the children) they will not love me" Hasn't anyone got commonsense any more? Even if you let your dog sit in the best chair in the house it will think it's in charge. Children who are given rules by which to live know that someone cares enough about them to be bothered.
She's definitely qualified by experience....

Sher....she probably has more experience than you..!
She's a very ignorant woman. I've met her at work and she was very rude. I think some of her advice is good but a lot of it is just common sense. It takes patience and calm to be a parent lol.
Yes...it is common sense, but when the weight of the world is on your shoulders you can lose your way...

Some parents don't notice that cute, tiny bundle, turn into a brat. They are often bewildered how they got to place they are...
Yes, sandrajo, I can easily imagine that it's all "gone to her head"

Hello ummmm, I know what you mean - but bringing a child up is a job for life. You don't go to work and say "I just can't do this job today" Having a child is a choice and best described as the toughest job you will ever do.
I like her and her programmes. To say, basically, she shouldn't be doing the job she is doing because she doesn't have children is a bit daft. Most parents don't have a clue what they are doing, and the way their children act are proof of that. You don't have to have children to understand how they operate!
Sorry, not "most parents", I meant many parents
