just suppose you're an all-powerful TV boss and you are able to bring back one TV series from the past, to make new series of it either with its original cast if they're still with us, or with new actors. Which series would you choose?

I would have chosen Totp and I would (and have) been quite disappointed
As always distance lends enchantment
As a child I absolutely loved Gilligans Island and Robinson Crusoe. I have seen clips on YouTube since and they don't seem particularly funny now, so I'd want to check them first before I show them.

But there are 3 I'd love to see again

(1) Mr Ed was also a great series- I loved the re-runs in the late 1980s/early 1990s on C4.
(2) The Rock n roll years, combining news footage and music from the late 1950s to early 70s, maybe updated to include 80s .
(3)Finally, Laurel and Hardy. I'd show every single one of their short 20 minute programmes.
I wish they drew out Life on Mars for a bit longer, or bring back a new series after Ashes to Ashes. I'm having withdrawals from the Gene Genie!
What I really used to enjoy was Rowan & Martin's Laugh in which was so funny, I always looked forward to watching each week, also Those were the days,& good variety shows & good films totally without F***ng & blinding & good family films without duvets constantly going up & down.A lot was left to the imagination & I think we were better for it.
Ron.
Yes, whiskeryron, Laurel and Hardy (like Morecambe and Wise later on) shared a double bed and we thought nothing of it.
Both 'couples' were extremely funny without any crude language.
I enjoyed the series A Family at War, also Duchess of Duke Street and Upstairs Downstairs

When the boat comes in and Sam were also good series
Oh I forgot about Family at War
I loved that too
Upstairs downstairs is on every saturday morning - at least thats when I get to see it - its a bit Downton Abbey isnt it
I dont imagine its anything like a true reflection on the way of life for those in service though
