does anybody know if the rumours are true that Daniel Craig (Layer Cake)   is now going to play 007?

There is no confirmation of the rumour from the Bond press office.

But isn't there and awful lot of stuff in the press about it at the mo?  The most recent thing I've heard is that Pierce is going to do one more movie.  They're certainly drumming up enough publicity for the next film!

the fact that they have declined to comment on daniel craig says to me that yes he is the next bond !

One thing about James Bond is ( in my opinion ) that you must be convinced that he has cruelty withiin him ( ie Sean Connery in Dr No - shoots the helpless intruder several times ) After seeing Layer Cake , I think that this actor has both charisma and cruelty. Plus you can imagine men wanting to be him and women wanting to ... get to know him.

I heard a comfirmation last week on tv around about 6.45am before I went to work saying that the next James Bond was going to be Daniel Craig I didn't know who he was but was disappointed when I looked at him definitely not my choice!!
