Watching this right now, thinking maybe she'd been abused by the whole lot of her family and this was her way out? You hear now of children who are abused by the whole family, why should it have been different then?

I saw this a few night ago but it didn't occur to me that she could have been abused. Its possible though. Her mother was apparently screaming and shouting at her during the trial. She must have been petrified of her. I did feel sorry for her sister as she seemed truly remorseful of what she said to the old pedler before he collapsed and died.

but she was a bastard child and felt particularly left out, so maybe that explains it all.

^I know, the sister was what made me think of this in the first place. She'd clearly been told to ask for money and was much too young to realise consequences, so it wasn't anything she'd done off her own bat as it were. I'm going to nosey into this one as it's interested me with its links into other abuse cases.
