I watched this programme with some dismay, as members of 'London's Finest' effed and blinded, using language that would get Saturday night revellers arrested for using. I was a little surprised that such language was broadcast - not that we don't hear such language every night on TV - because it showed those policemen to be so ignorant. You would think they would have viewed it and edited out the four-letter words, as it showed them in such a bad light.

i watched it last, thought it was really good. Didnt mind a bit of swearing, I've heard lots worse. I hope its on every week Bert

I wasn't really objecting to the swearing, although I don't like it on any programme, and it was certainly after the watershed. It was the fact that they were policemen, and that they were not speaking at moments of high drama. They were just speaking the same as the effing people they are effing-well trying to catch, effing using the F-word as a sort of effing gap-filler. What would you think if they had been teachers or office managers in a local council department? They could not have edited the F-word out without it being obvious, and bleeps would be just as bad. But what are we doing employing policemen who cannot suit their language to their situation? I'm sure that many of them swear like troopers when the cameras are not on them, but when the cameras are on you would think they would have more sense.
